Community Initiatives

The Black Star Project is a community-based, educational initiative on culture, economics and participatory democracy. We gather and share wisdom from community adults with youth about the role of education and creativity in their work for racial, gender, economic and environmental justice. 

Through a variety of youth leadership development programs and initiatives, community conversation series; and a variety of programs to support education, wellness, mentoring, economics and financial literacy, the Project emphasizes grassroots resources for social change from the collective knowledge of marginalized communities.
