Spreading Kindness: Recap of Our Volunteer Care Package Event
Last Thursday, The Black Star Project partnered with Brookfield Care to host a meaningful and impactful Volunteer Care Package event at our office.
The evening was a true celebration of community spirit, generosity, and teamwork. With the help of some of our incredible program students and volunteers, we accomplished something special:
100 care packages assembled: Each package filled with essentials and thoughtful items to support those in need this holiday season.
40+ gifts wrapped: Carefully prepared to bring joy to children and families during the holidays.
The event wasn’t just about the work—it was about the connections we built along the way. The room buzzed with laughter, conversations, and a shared purpose. And, of course, no event is complete without good food to keep the energy high!
A Special Tribute
We were honored to receive a generous donation from Kappa Alpha Psi in memory of Brother William Mikel, a cherished mentor whose legacy continues to inspire us. His dedication to making a difference in the lives of others is a guiding light for our mission.
Looking Ahead
Events like these remind us of the power of coming together to uplift our communities. At The Black Star Project, we’re committed to creating opportunities for engagement, support, and growth. We are so grateful to everyone who joined us for this event and made it a success.
